It is interesting that I have a large amount of spam reports from Yahoo but it doesn't align with the volume of email sent.

  • Gmail is 74.13% of emails sent but doesn't even show for spam reports.
  • Yahoo is 14.68% of emails sent but 71.43 % spam reports

Not sure why yahoo people are marking as spam since they opted in and can unsubscribe at any time but I love interesting data like this and I love to ask the question. I doesn't really matter since the overall percentage of spam reports is miniscule but it is still interesting to dive into.

How I read this is percentages are calculated in function of the total reports, not total mail sent. Yahoo is circa 70% of the reports (15/21) and Comcast is the remaining 30% (6/21).

BTW, 21 reports out of 20'000+ e-mails sent, that's less than 0.1%... Not that bad! That said, not all providers give accurate spam feedback, to avoid giving hints to spammers on how to better go through filters. I would assume the numbers to be similar across all large providers... essentially nothing to worry about 🙂

YAHOO is full of bots ...... Doing bot stuff so if one or two bots some how got in here you might get a spam report...... I remember that when I was on vines way back in the day

Thank you! Oh yes I agree 15 out of 20k isn't anything to worry about. I just think its weird that people subscribe and then mark as spam. It's probably guys who subscribe and then their wife sees the email and they are like - uh no I didn't subscribe to that and mark it as spam to save face. I can see it now. Pegging, no way babe I'm not into that and frantically clicks the mark as spam button.

I just love numbers and I wonder the narrative behind the few folks that spammed me. It still says I have an A+ sending reputation so I'm perfectly fine. I just like to ask questions about the world around me, as you may or may not have discovered from my blog.
